NEMA was hired to gain national exposure by securing a media partner for the Farmers’ Almanac’s “Worst Wedding Weather” contest. During a three-month contract NEMA pitched the idea to national networks and focused on NBC’s “Today Show” to gauge interest. This process included drafting story pitches, editing video of wedding weather examples, providing graphics and all necessary materials to the producers of the show. NEMA secured the media partnership with NBC. The partnership included a recent appearance on the “Today Show” with the editor of the Almanac and a couple from Maine who had a bad weather experience. This kicked off the contest and the Today Show included info about the contest on their web site with a link to the Farmers’ Almanac’s contest page. This resulted in increase web traffic and exposure for the contest.
As part of the media partnership agreement, the Today Show will announce finalists of the contest and the editor will make another appearance either during the finalist’s stage or when they have a winner. So, if all goes well with the contest they will get on a second time.
This is an example of NEMA’s ability to gain national exposure for clients.
