What We Do

Message and Story Development

You know your business and your story and we promise to listen and develop a story angle that will ensure media attention. Because of NEMA’s journalism background, we know what elements of a story are needed in order to pitch the idea to various media, including print, radio, television and online. We also can help develop and find new content from your organization’s mission that may fulfill an ongoing content need for a media outlet maximizing your exposure. (See case studies for examples.)

Distribution

In our experience, dealing with the media requires a personal relationship. You must have credibility and knowledge of the news business to get the best story in the press. Our experience in news gives us access to key media contacts in local, regional and national press and allows us to maximize coverage of your story. At NEMA, we believe a successful execution of a story involves not only distributing a news release but also following up aggressively with key contacts in the media and providing the elements that various mediums need for a story. This may include video, stills, logos, etc.

Story Placement

Once NEMA has done the initial distribution of a news release and followed up with media contacts via phone or e-mail, we get the story placed in as many media outlets as possible. Because we understand that a TV station needs creative and visual elements we can help make that happen with our clients.

Media Training

How do you get ready for an interview from the media? NEMA always gathers enough information from journalists to understand the line of questioning. We can help a client prepare for the interview by doing mock interviews and coaching on how to answer questions.

Tracking Reports

NEMA’s experience distributing press releases and using several methods to ensure media placement allows us to generate reports on a monthly basis so you can track our success.
